Being outdoors together, laughing, enjoying – a picture-book family picnic

Hand on heart: when was the last time you enjoyed a picnic outdoors? If it has been a while, we invite you to try out this way of relaxing and slowing down again! Summer, sunshine, green meadows and balmy air – what could be better than leaving everyday life behind for a few hours and feasting in the middle of nature? A picnic is not just about eating outdoors. It is joie de vivre, indulgence, togetherness and a little adventure in between.

Ideas for your picnic: recipes for outdoor enjoyment

Any food that is easy to transport and doesn’t spoil straight away at higher temperatures is suitable for a picnic. It should also be possible to eat it with as little cutlery as possible. For example, why not try out these picnic ideas:

Wraps with TischleinDeckDich® & chickpeas

Chickpeas are not only a valuable source of long-lasting satiety, they are also low in fat. Combined with TischleinDeckDich® and vegetables, they make a delicious wrap that is perfect for preparing in advance and taking with you. The ideal companion for active days out in nature!

Chicken salad to go

Chicken salad to go is a tasty and at the same time nutrient-rich picnic meal. The basis of this recipe is TischleinDeckDich®, our popular alkaline quinoa and millet meal with vegetables. You can not only enjoy this nutrient-rich, alkaline-forming dish on its own, but also use it for a wide variety of recipe ideas. You can find the full recipe for the chicken salad to go here.

Fruit skewers or fruit salad in a jar

Watermelon, strawberries, mango, grapes, … Fresh fruit is available in many varieties in summer and tastes especially good when it’s hot. Cut the fruit into bite-sized pieces and put them into small screw-top jars to make a fruit salad!

Muffins – sweet or savoury

Muffins are ideal for taking with you and don’t crumble as much as cake. You are sure to know the sweet classics in many variations. But have you ever tried savoury muffins? A savoury batter with peas, sweetcorn, onions, cheese and/or ham makes the perfect little picnic meal!

Powerballs

Little balls that are not only easy to eat but also provide energy in no time at all – that’s what powerballs are. They are made, for example, from dates, nuts and oat flakes. Powerballs become particularly healthy and nutrient-rich when they are enriched with WurzelKraft® / AlkaLife®, our plant-based fine granules with over 100 fruits, herbs, vegetables and bee pollen. Here you can find a recipe for fruity WurzelKraft® PowerBalls. They also taste fabulous as a dark chocolate version.

The perfect places for a relaxed picnic

Not every place is equally suitable for a picnic. But with a little sensitivity, you can find a suitable little spot almost anywhere. A good picnic spot should have shady areas or at least partially shaded areas and offer some shelter from the wind. Little hustle and bustle would be nice, but unfortunately that isn’t always possible in parks in summer. Cleanliness and safety are another important factor. After all, nobody wants to picnic among rubbish and broken glass. Nice extras are access to water, a barbecue area or a playground nearby, if desired. You often don’t have to travel very far to find a spot like this. Keep your eyes open when you go for a walk or take a look at online maps to see whether there is a small hidden public green space nearby that you could use! But be sure to have a look at the spot in person beforehand to avoid any nasty surprises!

Practical tips for your picnic break

There are a few things you should definitely pack for your picnic outing: a blanket (ideally with a water-repellent underside), crockery, cutlery and napkins, bin bags, wet wipes, insect repellent and sun protection. You can also pack a few little extras to make the time even sweeter: a book or a card game, soap bubbles for the children, a frisbee, etc. Invest a little time in the preparations, and it will turn out exactly as a picnic should be: relaxed and naturally delicious. We hope you have lots of fun!

Quality and taste must remain

For over 30 years, P. Jentschura has stood for a simple idea: the body can regenerate itself if you give it what it needs to do so. This idea has given rise to a coordinated concept of alkaline nutrition, alkaline body care and well-thought-out accessories — developed and made in Münster.

Wherever possible, all raw materials come from controlled organic farming. Our products are free from artificial additives, independently tested and certified several times over. Everything that goes into the tin passes through our hands first — that is the difference you can taste and feel.
